Living Cost

Student living costs are around 300-400 Euros per month. Accommodation can range from around 100 Euros for dormitories to 400 Euros in Private flats (monthly price).

Cutoms

Family is very important to Estonians, within cities, close family and friends remain closely tied. The elderly of a family are more often than not taken care of at home, instead of being sent to a care taking facility. This is in part due to the heirarchical system that Estonians base their relationships, where elders and those with more experiance in a situation/role are granted more respect and are hence more reveared as well.

Estonian people tend to be a quiet people, concidering themselves reserved and rarely tend to over exagerate emotional experiances. When being introduced, it is polite to stand and maintain eye contact whilst offering a hand shake. If inivted to an Estonian household, a small gift is often appriciated, simple chocolate, bottle of wine and flowers are all acceptable. If giving flowers however, they should be given in an odd numbered bunch, as an even number of flowers are reserved for funerals.
